Can Humpty Dumpty be put together again?

A shattered white sphere with cracks and debris scattered around, revealing a warm glow from within.

At 33 years old, I believed I was broken beyond repair.

I had spent my entire life trying to outrun the pain of a traumatic childhood — burying it under achievement, responsibility, and the hope that if I just worked hard enough, I could build a life far away from the chaos I grew up in. For a while, it worked. Or at least, it looked like it did.

Then everything shattered.

My mother was murdered… by my middle brother.

There are no words that prepare you for a loss like that. No script for how to breathe when the ground beneath you gives way. No handbook for how to reconcile love, grief, betrayal, and trauma all colliding at once.

In those months, I felt like Humpty Dumpty — the one who had a great fall, the one who shattered into pieces, the one no one could put back together again. Not the king’s horses. Not the king’s men. Not even the strongest version of myself I had worked so hard to become.

I wasn’t just broken. I was undone.

But here’s the part the nursery rhyme never tells:

Humpty Dumpty didn’t have a Healer.

He didn’t have a God who binds up wounds. He didn’t have a Savior who specializes in resurrection. He didn’t have a story where broken pieces become a testimony.

I do. And so do you.

When everything collapsed, I discovered something I had never allowed myself to believe: God wasn’t asking me to hold myself together. He was inviting me to let Him rebuild me — not back into who I was, but into someone whole, grounded, and free.

Piece by piece. Layer by layer. Truth by truth. Grace by grace.

The breaking became the doorway to healing.

You May Feel Shattered, But You Are Not Beyond Repair

Maybe your story looks different from mine. Maybe your fall came through loss, betrayal, exhaustion, illness, or years of carrying more than anyone ever saw.

But hear this:

You are not too far gone. You are not too broken. You are not too late. You are not beyond repair.

If God can rebuild me from the kind of devastation that once convinced me my life was over, He can rebuild you too.

The Miracle Isn’t That I Survived —

The Miracle Is That I Was Made New

Today, I don’t hide my story. I don’t minimize it. I don’t pretend it didn’t break me.

I share it because it shows the truth: God doesn’t just put pieces back together. He creates something stronger, softer, wiser, and more whole than before.
